Refund Policy

Understanding our refund policy for donations

1. General Policy

Mahamana Educational and Research Foundation is a registered non-profit organization. All donations made to our organization are generally considered final and non-refundable as they are utilized immediately for our charitable activities and programs.

2. Eligible Refund Cases

Refunds will only be considered in the following exceptional circumstances:

  • Duplicate Transactions: If a donation amount has been accidentally charged more than once due to technical errors
  • Unauthorized Transactions: If a transaction was made without the donor's authorization
  • Technical Errors: If there was a system error resulting in an incorrect donation amount
  • Bank/Payment Gateway Errors: If funds were debited but the transaction failed to complete

3. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will NOT be provided in the following cases:

  • Change of mind after making a donation
  • Dissatisfaction with program outcomes
  • Personal financial difficulties arising after donation
  • Misunderstanding of the organization's activities or objectives
  • Desire to donate to a different cause

4. Refund Request Process

To request a refund for eligible cases, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact us within 7 days of the transaction date
  2. Provide your donation receipt/transaction ID
  3. Include your name, email, and phone number
  4. Clearly explain the reason for the refund request
  5. Attach relevant proof or documentation (if applicable)

5. Refund Timeline

If your refund request is approved:

  • We will review and respond to your request within 10-15 business days
  • Approved refunds will be processed within 15-20 business days
  • Refunds will be credited to the original payment method
  • Bank processing may take an additional 5-7 business days

6. Tax Receipt Implications

If a refund is processed and a tax receipt (80G certificate) has already been issued, please note:

  • The original tax receipt will be cancelled
  • You must return the original receipt if received
  • You cannot claim tax benefits for the refunded amount
  • We will inform the income tax department about the cancellation

7. Partial Refunds

In cases where only a portion of the donation amount qualifies for refund (e.g., duplicate partial amount), we reserve the right to issue partial refunds while retaining the valid donation amount.

8. Payment Gateway Charges

Please note that payment gateway charges, processing fees, and transaction fees are non-refundable even if the donation amount is refunded.

9. Dispute Resolution

If you are not satisfied with our refund decision, you may:

  • Request a review of the decision within 7 days
  • Provide additional documentation to support your case
  • Escalate to our management team for final review

10. Changes to Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Please review this policy periodically for updates.
